The Abierto Mexicano de Diseño is an inclusive international festival that each year brings together and celebrates the design community in Mexico. On this occasion the Abierto Mexicano de Diseño invites the community to explore the environmental, social and political utopia with the purpose of redesigning the present. Something we need today more than ever. Its objective is to provide a perspective totally in keeping with these times of challenges and reconstruction with the collaboration of as many people as possible.
For this reason, the Open extends its call for participation until May 31, 2020 and, while the quarantine continues, it will carry out different online broadcasts that will deal with issues related to the present and how to face them from design, under the title-and format"Terapias de grupo”. Various formats will be explored such as Instagram Live with teatime talks, conferences with leaders from the creative industries and other online activities.
In the context that the world faces today, the Open believes that it is more important than ever to move forward and promote the actions and ideas of the entire community. For this reason, it presents the fundraising programFriends of the Open, that seeks to grant benefits to stimulate the collaboration of the Open, as well as encourage the imagination of a better present and future. Although the precise measures that will be taken to guarantee the safety of all those involved in the festival have yet to be announced, depending on the development of international and national circumstances, the 2020 Open presents the following benefit packages, with full validity of the month from May 2020 to April 2021 (in the case of access to museums and other physical spaces, the start will be respected from the date on which they reopen their doors to the public).
To obtain a membership of this program, you only have to enter the website (abiertodediseno.mx) and read the benefits of each type of membership to later choose one of them, in this way the community can be part of the summer to all for a year.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 2020 OPEN
From March 12 the call for the festival is open to the public. Those interested can apply to participate in the pavilions and forms of participation available in any of the sections of the Open. To be part of this design community, the first step is to consult the rules and register at: abredediseno.mx.
The deadline to register is extended until May 31, 2020.
The eighth edition of the Mexican Design Open will take place from 7 as of October 11, 2020.
In case of change in the dates of the festival, of registration, or in its different modalities of participation, as well as the measures of security that are pertinent, the Mexican Design Open will notify the media and its contact base in due course.
