Glenfiddich: the legacy of international quality turned into whiskey

The name of this whiskey firm comes from the word composed in Gaelic: “Glen” which means “Valley” and “Fiddich” which translates as "full of deer", that is to say "The valley of the deer". Hence the symbol of Glenfiddich is the head of such a majestic animal. The distillery where Glenfiddich is made was founded by William Grant and his nine children in 1986 in Dufftown, town that is part of the Speyside region in the Highlands of Scotland, an area visually spectacular geographical location and possessor of bountiful lands surrounded by rivers and springs of enviable purity. But it was December 25, 1887 when the Grant family saw coming out of the copper stills, the first drop of the distillate.

Since then, the Grant family has not stopped merging skillfully water (from the Robbie Dhu spring), air and barley malted to make Glenfiddich. Three elements to which the brand pays tribute through the characteristic triangular shape of its designed bottle by Hans Schleger.

Fruity and sweet in character, Glenfiddich continues amazing with its double distillation process in copper stills, from which unique flavors are obtained that mix with the aromas of the sherry barrels, port or solera –the latter being an innovation of the brand–, which are used for maturation.

Glenfiddich 12 years – Single Malt that is characterized by its aroma of soft pear and wood. With a long and persistent finish that leaves soft memories. Matured in American Bourbon and Spanish Sherry barrels.

Glenfiddich 15 years – Noted for its intense and warm aroma with nuances of honey and wood. Especially soft and deep in flavor, with hints fruit and vanilla. For its elaboration, solera barrels, oak New American, American Oak and European Oak.

Glenfiddich 18 years – A Single Malt so exclusive that only there are 150 barrels to make it. Combines the sweet aroma of wood Olorosa and American oak. It is a robust whiskey, with elegant notes of oak, apple and cinnamon. The finish is long, smooth and round. Without a doubt, a sublime product.
